Dr. Sample is an experienced Kansas educational leader and the founder of School Strategy Partners, where he works alongside school and district leaders to review complex challenges, develop practical plans, and support important initiatives.
Dr. Sample currently serves as Assistant Superintendent for Newton Public Schools, where he leads the district’s Department of Instructional Services. His responsibilities include districtwide leadership of instruction, curriculum, assessment, and student support services. He also leads the district’s District Leadership Team and coordinates the district’s state accreditation and improvement work with the Kansas State Department of Education.
Prior to joining Newton Public Schools, Dr. Sample served for seven years as Superintendent of Marais des Cygnes Valley USD 456 and previously as Superintendent of Fort Larned USD 495. His career has also included service as a junior high principal, high school assistant principal, and classroom teacher. Across these roles, he has led strategic planning, school improvement, curriculum development, professional learning systems, student support initiatives, organizational redesign, major facility projects, and districtwide implementation efforts.
His work has consistently centered on helping organizations move from ideas to implementation. He has led the development of district vision and goals, accreditation and action-planning processes, curriculum review systems, professional development plans, technology initiatives, student support structures, and other complex organizational projects.
Dr. Sample earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership, a Master of Science in School Leadership, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Education from Baker University. He also completed district leadership licensure through Newman University.
Through School Strategy Partners, he brings the perspective of a practicing district leader who understands both the complexity of leading school systems and the practical realities of moving important work forward.
